Bookkeeping for small service businesses
Know your numbers.
Every month. No surprises.
Twenty years spent reading balance sheets in banking taught us what clean books actually protect you from. Now we keep the books for owner-operated service businesses — so you always know where your cash is going, and tax season stops being a fire drill.
The fire drill
You didn't start your business to become an amateur bookkeeper.
Most owners we talk to are living some version of the same four problems.
01
The shoebox backlog
Receipts and statements piling up, "get to it later" turning into six months behind.
02
Guessing your cash position
You can feel busy and still not know if this was a profitable month.
03
The April surprise
A tax bill that lands harder than it should, because the books weren't ready until it was too late.
04
No one to ask
A software subscription isn't the same as someone who actually looks at your books every month.
What's included

Questions
Before you book a call
Do you replace my CPA or tax preparer?+
No — and this is by design. 1527 Capital handles your bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping so your books are clean, current, and ready to hand to your CPA or tax preparer. We don't provide tax, legal, or investment advice; that stays with the licensed professionals who specialize in it.
What software do you use?+
We work primarily in Xero and QuickBooks Online — both are clean, reliable, and play well with most CPAs and payroll providers. If you're on something else, we'll talk through it on the discovery call.
How far behind is too far behind?+
There isn't one. Catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping is a normal starting point for most new clients — some are a few months behind, some are a few years.
How is pricing structured?+
Monthly bookkeeping is priced around your transaction volume and complexity, quoted after the discovery call. Catch-up work is quoted separately, as a one-time project.
Is my financial data kept confidential?+
Yes. Your books are handled in-house by our team, never outsourced, and treated with the same confidentiality standards expected in banking.
